Sarah, had come in the Planter, 1636, from London, aged 22, with Margaret, 22, who perhaps was his sis. and two ch. Sarah, 7, and Samuel, 1 and 1/2. He was of Marshfield 1643, and aft. d. of his w. 14 Aug. 1658, rem. to M. again. for there his d. Sarah m. 21 Dec. 1648, John Thomas, and there he d. 14 Mar. 1663, by nuncup. will giv. his little prop. to his ch. James, Abigail, and John, and Sarah Thomas and her childr. he was then 80 yr.s old, it is said. The s. James is prob. not that youth ment. in a let. of Roger Williams to John Winthrop, Apr. 1655, as having run away from his master, James Bill of Boston, steering for new London. PITT, WILLIAM, Plymouth, came, Nov. 1621, in the fortune, had sh. in the div. of ld. Mar. 1624, but was not present at the div. of cattle 1627; and may have rem. to the N. shore of the Bay. He was possib. of Marblehead in 1674; at least, one Hugh Latimer, of M. seems to have m. 1669, Mary, d. of a man of this name, wh. liv. there in May 1665. SAMUEL, Weymouth, s. of William, by w. Mary had Samuel, b. 24 Oct. 1685; James, 1 Apr. 1692; and perhaps others. WILLIAM, Weymouth, an early sett. by w. Mary, had, as I conject. (tho. rec. makes Samuel the f.) Samuel, b. 12 Aug. 1657; and William, 12 May 1661; others, also, much earlier; John, b. 28 Jan. 1639, wh. was drown. 28 May 1659; and Mary, 13 June 1643, wh. m. 10 May 1660, Henry Adams. PITTS, EDMUND, Hingham, from Hingham in Eng. came with w. and ch. was a weaver, freem. 13 May 1640, and had br. Leonard in comp. had s. John, b. 27 Nov. 1653; and Jermey, 25 Jan. 1657. Deborah, wh. m. Mary 1672 top Daniel Howard; Mary m. Nov. 1672 to John Bull or Bullen; and Elizabeth m. Dec. 1673, Thomas Jones, were his ds. or they or some may have come of ano. fam. Coffin inf. Mary, d. of Henry Andrews, wid. of William Hodges or Hedges, wh. in her will aft. 2 Apr. 1654, provid. that Peter P. should perform its conditions "in case I make him my husband." SAMUEL, Taunton, m. 25 Mar. 1680, Sarah Bobbett, d. of Edward of the same. WILLIAM, Hingham, came in the Diligent. 1638, from Old Hingham, maybe the man of wh. Winthrop II. 305 tells, and may have been at Marblehead, 1654, but 7 Dec. of next yr. m. Susanna, wid. of Philip Alley, was a trader, and prob. liv. at Boston; but his w. THOMAS, Westfield, br. of the preced. m. 1699, Lydia Dibble, d. of Abraham had Sarah, b. 1699; Noah, 1706; and d. 1731. WILLIAM, Hadley, m. 24 Nov. 1663, Sarah Lawrence, had Sarah, b. 11 Jan. 1665; Thomas, 6 June 1667; rem. to Northampton, there had William, 27 June 1669; Joseph, 18 Nov. 1671, d. young; Joseph, again, 9 Mar. 1676; Ebenezer, 13 May 1678; rem. to Westfield, there had Anthony, 4 July 1681, wh. d. 25 Apr. 1697; beside Mary, wh. d. 1735, at Westfield, unm. the date of whose b. is not kn. and he d. 9 Oct. 1689; and his wid. d. 25 Nov. 1713. Sarah m. 9 Dec. 1680, John Lee. Thomas, and Ebenezer, as well as Joseph, bef. ment. had ch. in W. but their names have not been learned. The name is still found. PLACE, sometimes PLAISE, ENOUCH, Kingstown, R. I. from whose will, May 1695, I learn that he was 64 yrs. old, and had w. Sarah, m. Nov. 1657, at Dorchester, as in Geneal. Rec. XI. 332 is seen, without her surname, and ch. Enouch, Peter, Thomas, and Joseph, the youngest, beside Sarah, w. of * * * Cook. The same Dorchester rec. ment. that Dinah P. d. 28 July of that yr.
